What’s so Wonderful about Hydrolysed Whey?
It is well known amongst sports enthusiasts that whey protein is one of the best supplemental forms of protein for performance - but have you heard about hydrolysed whey protein isolate? Hydrolysed whey protein isolate (WPI) is a special form of whey protein that has been purified and broken down into smaller fragments known as peptides. These peptides are digested and absorbed more easily than whole protein, allowing you greater utilisation of these nutrients for your muscles, with less chance of experiencing digestive symptoms. When you exercise, your ability to digest and absorb is severely reduced. Therefore, your body’s optimal performance requires an easily absorbed protein such as hydrolysed WPI to provide your muscles with the fuel it needs both before and during exercise, and afterwards for enhanced recovery.
Each serve of Endura Optimizer contains 10.5 g of pure, enzymatically hydrolysed WPI, combined with dual acting carbohydrates and electrolytes; your perfect companion for endurance exercise. Endura Optimizer is the ideal formula to take before, during and after exercise to provide the essential nutrients that your body needs. Post Exercise - The Hour of Power!
The first hour after exercise is vitally important for effective recovery. When you exercise, depending on the type and intensity, small micro-tears can occur within the muscle fibres. Your body responds by increasing the production of growth and repair hormones, particularly those associated with muscular tissue.1 By providing the right nutrients during this time you may be able to conserve muscle mass, recovery times, strength2, and therefore performance.
To optimise your post workout recovery opportunity, it is important to provide your body with the nutrients it requires in the hour after you exercise. Protein supplementation has been shown to conserve muscle mass when consumed following exercise.3 Whey proteins in particular are ideal for athletes, as it is high in anabolic amino building acids such as glutamine and branch chain amino acids (BCAAs), which help to protect muscle and speed growth and repair. Carbohydrates and electrolytes also assist with recovery by providing essential rehydration and restoring local energy stores in the muscle, known as glycogen. Endura Optimizer contains an ideal ratio of protein, carbohydrates and electrolytes for post workout supplementation, to speed recovery and ultimately assist in boosting performance.
The Post Training Carb Cure
During exercise, particularly intensive or endurance sports, your body burns through its muscular stores of glycogen. As a result carbohydrates are required after a workout to refuel the exhausted muscle cells and replenish your glycogen levels. Refuelling the glycogen stores in muscle can speed your recovery times. However the question is, how many carbs are required to ensure rapid refuelling and recovery, to get you back on the road sooner? The Australian Institute of Sport recommends 1 g of carbohydrate per kg of body weight every hour, for up to four hours after training.4 For example, if you weigh 60 kg, you need to consume 60 g of carbohydrates each hour for four hours after a gut-busting workout to achieve the fastest recovery possible.
Endura Optimizer contains 60.9 g of carbohydrates per serve, providing a massive dose of high quality carbohydrates for refuelling. Endura Optimizercontains dual acting carbs; microcrystalline fructose and branched chain glucose polymers. These multiple energy sources are metabolised at different rates to provide you with both rapid and sustained sources of energy, meet your refuelling needs and ensure you are firing on all cylinders for your next training session.
